Mihai Fifor (PSD), about the consultations with Nicușor Dan: “We will not propose a prime minister and we will not negotiate ministries”

PSD deputy Mihai Fifor says that the only topic of discussion that the formation wants to approach at the consultations with the president of Wednesday is the “Economic Directorate of the Country”.
“At this stage, the PSD does not go to the consultations with the President of Romania to discuss functions or the division of power. We will not propose a prime minister and we will not negotiate ministries. The only topic of discussion is the economic direction of the country. The discussions will focus exclusively on solutions for budgetary consolidation, investments, social equity, Not a rhetoric, ”Fifor shows, in a Facebook post.
Mihai Fifor said that the PSD will not accept “stopping major infrastructure projects” and reductions in local and national investments.
“We do not accept the stop of major infrastructure projects. Romania needs highways, not masked budget brakes. The cessation of works would mean losing the investments already made in studies and auctions, but also to block regional development. We do not accept cuts from local and national investments. Each community has the right to development.”
He said that cutting investments means “condemning millions of Romanians to stagnation”, and the social-democratic doctrine says that “no one should be left behind.” The politician said that tax reforms “must bring balance, not injustice”.
The PSD leader also says that “only after there is a clear image of the economic vision proposed by the president and the other parties, the PSD will decide in the internal forums whether or not to enter into government.”
“However, regardless of the decision, the PSD will behave as a serious and responsible party. We will support, if necessary, the installation of a functional government and the good measures for the country, even out of opposition,” said Mihai Fifor.
President Nicuşor Dan meets on Wednesday with the representatives of the parliamentary parties to have the first discussions regarding the formation of the new government. He said that the discussions will take place between 9.00 and 20.00, one and a half hours with each formation.
The first formation invited to consultations is PSD, followed by PNL, USR, UDMR, the group of minorities, gold, sauce Romania, can also the group of non -affiliate parliamentarians.
