Ukraine regained more prisoners of war. “We expect continuation”


As part of the replacement in the “1000 for 1000” format, the details of which were established in Turkey, in just two days we managed to bring a total of 697 people to Ukraine. The president added that the exchange is to be continued the next day.

The last group of released included representatives of the Ukrainian army, the State Border Service and the National Guard of Ukraine.

The first exchange took place on Friday, May 23. At that time, Ukraine regained 390 prisoners of war. “We bring our people home. The first part of the agreement with an exchange of 1000 for 1000 has been implemented. This agreement was reached at the meeting in Turkey and it is important to fully implement them. Today we have 390 people. We expect that the exchange will be continued on Saturday and Sunday” – said Zelanski on platform X.

The coordination staff for prisoners of war in Kiev reported that 390 Ukrainians – 270 military and 120 civilians were released on behalf of the President of Ukraine from Russian captivity.

It has been added that people released from Russian captivity will undergo medical examinations, physical and psychological rehabilitation, receive all due payments for the whole period of captivity and help in reintegration in society.
