US Secretary of Labor resigns. More purges are coming

Chavez-DeRemer “has done an outstanding job of protecting American workers, implementing fair labor standards, and helping Americans gain additional skills to improve their quality of life,” Cheung said in the release. It is not known yet when he will step down from this position.
Third recent departure
Chavez-DeRemer's future in the job was in doubt after she was investigated for allegations of misconduct. The scandals concerned, among others: reports of her having an affair with a member of security and that she drank alcohol on the job. She was also accused of mismanaging department funds. The White House initially defended Chavez-DeRember, and President Trump deemed the accusations against her baseless. The duties of the head of the department will be performed by Keith Sonderling, the current deputy secretary.
Chavez-DeRemer is the third member of the Trump administration to leave his cabinet recently. In early April, Trump announced the dismissal of Pam Bondi as attorney general, and a month earlier, Kristi Noem lost her position as secretary of homeland security (DHS). According to Politico, more resignations can be expected soon.
