Huniade Castle remained without one of the photo statues: Timișoara's opinion
The statue of the knight dressed in armor was hanged by the prelate that covered, until recently, the historical monument building, and when the worker fired, there was a stupidness. Only by a miracle, did not fall over someone.
“The decision was made to remove the tarpaulin from the facade of Huniade Castle, because it was damaged. During the operation, a statue was accidentally detached. It will be restored at the expense of the company that executed the work, without additional costs for the administration”, The representatives of the Timiș County Council explained.
The knight “destroyed” It is now stored, a piece with a piece, like a huge lego, in the marble room and is waiting for restoration specialists to be rebuilt.
“It is a pity what happened, but they are not human victims. I did not think that would happen. But it will be restored and it will look even better than it has been so far.”says Claudiu Ilaş, manager of the National Museum of Banat, according to the observer.
It should be mentioned that after the incident, another team of workers was sent urgently to check if the only knight left guard is well anchored by the facade.
After almost 20 years of waiting, the Timiș County Council is close to finding a builder to rehabilitate the Huniade Castle in the heart of Timisoara, the oldest building of the city, which was raised between 1308 and 1315 by Carol Robert de Anjou.
