CNN previously noted that the original $25 billion figure that Hurst presented to congressmen in April was an underestimate. According to TV news, a more complete settlement, including repairs and replacement of damaged equipment, may be possible from USD 40 to USD 50 billion.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, when asked about the possibility of presenting congressmen with a more detailed accounting of expenses, assured that the Ministry of Defense will provide appropriate data when necessary and required by the procedure.

Trump puts Iran's nuclear weapons ahead of finances

President Donald Trump commented on new data on US spending on the war with Iran in a conversation with journalists.
