XI Jinping wrote, among others, that Romania is the third country in the world that has established diplomatic relations with “new” China. He added that over the years both countries treated each other with respect and on the principles of equality, constantly developing favorable cooperation and deepened the traditionally combining friendship.
The China leader added that in the context of changes that the world has not experienced for 100 years, China and Romania, as good friends and partners, must intensify communication, deepen the agreement and cooperation, use the current possibilities and to face challenges together.
“I attach great importance to the development of relations between China and Romania and I am ready to cooperate with President Elek Dan to open a new chapter of friendly cooperation between the two countries, for the benefit of both nations,” wrote XI Jinping.
The mayor of the capital of Nicusor Dan won the presidential election in Romania, winning 53.6 percent. votes. Thus, he defeated his opponent George Simion, who gained 46.4 percent, and became the president of Romania.
