What warnings do diplomats give to Poles?
Polish diplomats remind that tense relations between the Kremlin and Warsaw result in problems in obtaining support. “Due to the ongoing reduction of the diplomatic and consular staff of the Republic of Poland in Russia caused by the decision of the local authorities to withdraw consent to the operation of the Consulates General in St. Petersburg and Königsberg, the possibility of providing direct consular assistance to Polish citizens is becoming more and more limited, and in order to obtain it, it may be necessary to go to very distant consular offices. At the same time, we would like to inform you that not registering your trip to Russia in the Odyseusz system will significantly hamper consular interventions in the event of a crisis. In the event of a drastic deterioration of the security situation, closure of borders or other unforeseen situations, evacuation may turn out to be significantly difficult or even impossible,” warns the Polish embassy in Moscow.
