Dan Trifu, the vice-president of the Eco-Civica Foundation, who fights the protection of the environment and the rescue of the green spaces in Bucharest, announced that he will run for the City Hall. Contacted by Hotnews, he explained that he thought about taking this step, but he was always the “fervent supporter” of Nicușor Dan. Now, he will go to Cotroceni, and for the Capital “some bad candidates are announced,” he believes.
“We cannot leave the capital in the hands of people who generated and maintained corruption or did not take an attitude against the wrongs,” said Dan Trifu, EcoCivica Vice President, one of the first NGOs to defend the green spaces in Bucharest by real estate developers, in a message to the newsroom.
Contacted by Hootnews, he said that the decision immediately after Nicușor Dan's victory in the presidential elections, because “some bad candidates are announced for the Capital”.

Asked if he thinks he will benefit from the support of any party, Dan Trifu was convinced that he will be with him “the Green Party, the landmark, probably other parties made up of activists or the need to have something green, a sustainable development, to a part of civil society”.

Asked what plan he has for Bucharest, Dan Trifu replied: “I did not ask for and I do not ask for me, so I was educated, to advocate for the good of the citizens, I really want to continue what the current president started. Dan Trifu has been active in the Eco-Civic Foundation since 1998, an NGO dedicated to environmental protection, historical heritage and human rights, fighting against urban and architectural abuses.
