The president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, who also has Romanian citizenship, voted on Friday for the second round of the Romanian presidential elections and published a video clip on the polling station.
Sandu is located in Albania at the summit of the European Political Community, which brings together the leaders of the 27 EU member countries and about 20 other European countries, which is why he voted at the Romanian Embassy in Tirana.
“The President Maia Sandu ended his participation in the summit of the European Political Community in Albania with a natural gesture for any citizen involved: he voted at the Romanian Embassy in Tirana,” a representative of the Presidency in Chisinau, Igor Zaharov, said on Facebook.
Maia Sandu showed her support for Nicușor Dan
Sandu, who also has Romanian citizenship, said last week that he will vote with the independent candidate Nicușor Dan in the second round of the presidential elections. “I think there is more room, I think we can mobilize in the next elections. I personally will vote Nicușor Dan,” said Maia Sandu.
Previously, the ruling party also announced that it will support Nicușor Dan in the second round of the Presidents in Romania. “On May 18, each vote will count in the election of the President of Romania. Your voice will be essential for a powerful Romania in the European Union-a constant support for the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU and a reliable friend for all our citizens,” a message posted on Facebook by the leader PAS, Igor Grosu.
