The American agency points to specific faults
According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the fault may prevent the display of the image from the reversing camera.
“Toyota has announced a recall of 144,200 vehicles in the United States due to a defect that may prevent rearview camera images from being displayed when reverse gear is engaged. Loss of visibility behind the vehicle increases the risk of a collision,” NHTSA said.
The action includes Lexus NX350 (2022–2025), NX250 (2022–2025), RX350 (2023–2026) and TX350 (2024–2026) models.

The manufacturer announces free repairs – depending on the case, dealers will update the software or replace the reversing camera.
The day before NHTSA announced a similar action by Ford Motor, covering 254,640 SUVs. The problem is software errors that may cause loss of image from the reversing camera and temporary disabling of driver assistance systems.
The call is for models Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Nautilus, Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer.
According to NHTSA, an unexpected restart of the image processing system may lead to a temporary loss of functions such as collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist and blind spot monitoring.
Ford announced that the problem will be solved by updating the software – both in service centers and remotely, over-the-air.
