A C-27J Spartan military aircraft equipped with the Romanian Air Forces brings, on Wednesday night to Thursday, from Ramon Airport in Israel, 12 children and 21 belongings, informs News.ro.

“A C-27j Spartan military aircraft equipped with the Romanian Air Force, on Wednesday, around 8 pm from Ramon Airport in Israel, to evacuate 12 pediatric patients and 21, Palestinian citizens.

The quoted source said that the air transport mission was requested by the Emergency Department.

For their part, DSU officials acted as a result of a formulated request, in the context of deteriorating the security situation in the Gaza Strip, by the European Coordination Center for Emergency Situations, through the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union, in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the Coordination Authority in the Government Activities.

“After arrival in Bucharest, 11 patients will be admitted, for medical care and treatment, in pediatric hospitals in Romania, and one of them will be taken over, during this night by an aircraft in the Republic of Turkey, together with its belonging, for treatment provided by this country,” the quoted source said.

The medical team accompanying the persons evacuated during the flight to Otopeni is made up of medical personnel provided by DSU, SMURD Bucharest and the Ministry of National Defense.
