Krasnoyarsk sued the airline for a failed flight

Pobeda Airlines will pay a resident of Krasnoyarsk more than 138,000 rubles for a failed flight, Rospotrebnadzor reports.
The incident occurred back in January 2022. A man used the Aviasales electronic service to find suitable tickets for his family to Sochi and back at Pobeda Airlines from travel agent Supersaver and paid for their purchase with a bank card. But on the day of departure, at the airport check-in desk it turned out that the airline’s reservation system did not have the family’s last names, so they would not be allowed on the plane.
“The father of the family immediately began writing everywhere he could – to the Aviasales service, to the airport, and to the airline. She replied that she had issued a refund, and to receive her money the client needed to contact the place where the tickets were purchased. The man learned from the Aviasales service that the refund was suspended due to the Supersaver agency being abroad. Since the ticket agent did not return the money for a long time, the Krasnoyarsk resident repeatedly contacted the airline with this demand, but to no avail. Then specialists from the Rospotrebnadzor Office got involved in the case, providing assistance in legal defense,” the Office said.
As a result, in favor of the Krasnoyarsk resident and his two minor children, Pobeda Airlines was charged: 49,070 rubles for tickets paid for; 13,258 rubles interest for using other people's money; 46,164 rubles fine; 30,000 rubles for moral damages and 366 rubles for postal expenses. The court's decision entered into legal force. It is noted that interest for using other people's money will increase until the actual payment of the debt.
