Who is Maciej Maciak?
Maciej Maciak (born on June 19, 1970 in Włocławek) is a journalist, activist and politician, leader of the Welfare and Peace Movement (RDIP), one of the candidates in the presidential election in 2025. He graduated from the Second High School. Nicolaus Copernicus in his hometown of Włocławek. He studied pedagogy and laws at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, but he did not graduate.
Over the years, he conducted commercial activities in the automotive industry, and in the years 2009–2019 he managed local television CW24TV. After closing it, he moved his activity to the network, assuming the “You must know it” channel on YouTube.
He began his political activity in 2006, candidate without success to the voivodship regional council from the Self -Defense List of the Republic of Poland. He also tried twice, in 2018 and 2024, to get the chair of President Włocławek – winning 14.13 and 7.42 percent respectively. support.
In 2022, he established a movement of prosperity and peace, which in the parliamentary elections a year later received 0.12 percent. votes. In 2025 he collected the required 100,000 signatures and officially submitted his candidacy in the presidential election.
Maciak raises controversy because of his views perceived as pro -Russian and Probiałorian. He publicly expressed recognition for Putin, calling him a “excellent politician”, while criticizing support for Ukraine and presenting the thesis identical with Russian propaganda, including questioning Moscow's responsibility for crimes in Bucza. He also performed in the Belarusian media, giving interviews to journalist Daniel Mikusk.
Experts such as Dr. Michał Marek indicate that his narratives can be part of the strategies of Russian disinformation. In 2018, the court found him guilty of images of the opponent of Emanuel Kalejaiye against a racial background – he received a fine for this. According to General Dariusz Łuczak, his activities can be monitored by special services, but possible activities against him are possible only if the law is broken.
