Mirage 2000s went on the offensive. Ukraine is going all out [WIDEO]

“We thank France for its unwavering support for our army, as well as for modern and high-quality weapons,” wrote a Telegram channel linked to the Ukrainian Air Force. This is the first publicly available video of an air attack on a ground target using the Ukrainian Mirage 2000 fighter and extremely dangerous AASM/Hammer bombswhich also came to Kiev as part of the aid of the French government.

How many Mirage 2000 fighters does Ukraine have?

What are the new capabilities of the Mirage 2000 fighters?

Why is the attack by Mirage 2000 fighters on the Russians surprising?

When are the next Mirage 2000 fighters expected to arrive in Ukraine?

Why is this such a surprising recording?

The recording is interesting and surprising because, until then, Mirage 2000 planes were used only to shoot down Russian cruise missiles and drones, which they seem to be very good at. Additionally, from what we know, Ukraine currently only has two Mirage 2000 fighters, so it might seem that it will play it safe and not send them closer to the front line, where they may fall victim to Russian air defense.

More deliveries of French fighters soon

The transfer of aircraft to offensive operations may also be related to recent reports regarding further deliveries of Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine. Two more machines of this type are to be delivered to Kiev in the coming months, and another such structure is likely to arrive later in the year. We also know that three Ukrainian pilots are currently training on Mirage 2000 fighters in France.

It is also worth recalling that our neighbor receives these structures in the modernized 5F version. She received, among others: improved avionics, cockpit and radar, as well as new defense capabilities, e.g. the Samir DDM system that warns the pilot about enemy missiles. The latter should be particularly useful when fighters operate closer to the front line.
