Polish farmers went on strike again: Protestants blocked one of the main border points with Ukraine

The Polish protesters blocked on Monday, May 12, one of the main border points on the border between Poland and Ukraine, thus resuming the protests by which the Polish farmers disrupted the transport of goods last year.

The protest that is now held at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border point started at 1:00 pm (3:00 pm in Romania) and only one vehicle per hour can pass in each of the two directions, but transport with military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine are allowed to pass free.
Polish farmers and other EU member states have organized numerous protests against the agricultural policy promoted by Brussels, especially against the restrictions imposed by the European Green Pact and against Ukrainian agricultural imports, which the EU has exempted from customs duties and the obligation to meet European standards – to help Ukraine – to help the Russian – so they are European at dumping prices, prices under the costs of local producers.
In February 2024, Polish farmers blocked the roads from all over the country as well as border crossing points with Ukraine, starting a general strike that will last one month, in protest against EU policies and the lack of government measures to protect their means of living.
