A political scientist with a potential Russian attack on Lithuania. He draws a black script

About the fact that Lithuania, like other Baltic countries, can be attacked by Russia in the next way after Ukraine, experts have been saying for a long time. The inhabitants of this country are also afraid of any war. According to prof. Liekisa in the near future should not be afraid of extending the conflict, but on the other hand various scenarios are possible.
“We also hear about the fact that if Ukraine loses war tomorrow, we will be next in the queue. After all, we have this time to arma or not and are our plans adequate to the challenges?” – a political scientist wonders in an interview with Rzeczpospolita.
The political scientist warns against Russia's attack on Lithuania
The expert believes that the situation is dangerous, especially since “nobody talks about diplomacy today”, but the arms race and muscles are underway on both Russia and NATO countries. ” Lithuania, despite creating a new brigade and increasing the number of soldiers, as well as the presence of German troops, is currently not able to defend against Putin's troops.
“If a full -scale war breaks out, almost our entire army will be destroyed during the week. Let's also consider modern technologies and drones. Russia has gained a lot of experience in this area. We also have no operational depth. We need reserves because they are insufficient” – says “Rzeczpospolita” Sarunas Liekis.
A political scientist adds that Lithuania does not create reserves or real reinforcing potential, does not invest in the creation of defense companies. He also does not believe in any relief from the United States or other NATO countries despite the validity of Article 5. Even if other countries want Lithuania, they may not make it. “They can come, but for example in a month,” says the expert.
He also referred to Poland, indicating that our country, unlike Lithuania, took some actions to increase security. “After joining NATO, we lived in the belief that in the event of danger, as in American films, Black Hawk will land on our roof and save everyone” – says “Rz” prof. Liekis. “I am a realist. For 30 years we did nothing when it comes to safety,” he adds.
