The cellar of the demate was distinguished with the titles “The Romanian Winery of the Year” and “The Romanian Wine of the Year” – Paima Feteasa White 2024within the prestigious International Wine Competition London Wine Competition 2025.

These distinctions come to confirm the commitment of the demeanor's wine cellar towards excellence, authenticity and passion for quality Romanian wine.

An exceptional result in London

The wine cellar obtained an impressive record, with six medals Adjudged in the competition: gold, 95 points and the title of “Romanian wine of the year” for the Paima Feteasa Alb 2024; Gold and 95 points for the white blend in the Migal range, the 2024 harvest, a silver medal and three bronze medals.

The Vintruvian Estates group, of which the demate winery is part, next to the Olterra winery, Histria and the horses from Letea – Sarica Niculițel, obtained a total of 10 of the 19 medals granted to Romania at this edition of the competition.

“For us, each medal is reconfirming the quality of Romanian wine, in general, the fact that its place is with the wines of the most important regions of the world. But our true stake is to win the consumer's confidence, year after year, contributing to the consolidation of the Romanian Wine brand,” says Alin Lăzărescu, general director Vinvian Estates.

Much more than a title

The titles obtained in London are particularly valuable, being offered by a difficult jury to impress – 10 Masters of Wine, 5 Master Sommeliers and 10 purchase experts, representing an important part of the UK wine trade.

The performance of the demate winery in London comes after a long series of titles and medals obtained over the last year. Only from the beginning of the year, the manufacturer obtained three gold medals in Mundus Vini, and, following the impressive scores received from the James Suckling team (from 89 to 94 points!), The demeanor became the first Romanian wine cellar selected at the Great Wines World, the itinerant exhibition of the same critic.

In 2024, the demate winery obtained, among many other medals, the title of best of show at the Winelovers Wine Awards (with Prince Matei 2017), and the great gold medal at Concurs Mondial of Brussels for the Passion Black Feteas 2020, the same wine being declared Best of Show at Mundus Vini Vins Canada.

The consistency, the key to a powerful Romanian wine brand

From the point of view of Wines of Romania, the demeanor has best understood the essential thing: that it is not important to win a wave of medals, but to win something every year, all over the world.

A medal or title, no matter how important, does not define a national brand. Only the perseverance, consistency and excellence proven year by year can build the reputation of Romanian wine in the world.

A strong brand is built over time, with patience and effort, demonstrating year after year that you produce exceptional wine. That you can not stop for a second of this construction work.

The wines of the demate winery can be discovered in select restaurants in Romania, in specialized and online stores. You can meet some of the stories that come to life on the 81 hectares of the Tegăneanu and Zorești hills, stories bottled today under names, Migală, Patima, Prince Matei or Matei, in the Wines of Romania.
