The Ministry of National Defense (MAPN) announces the performance of the Dacian Spring 2025 (DASP 25) exercise between May 5-23, in the polygons in Smârdan, Cincu, Capu Midia, Bogata and Frecăței.
“About 4,000 soldiers and 913 technical means from 10 allied states – Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Northern Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain, participate in this large allied exercise, held in the polygons in Smârdan, Cincu, Capu Midia, Bogata and Frecața“, MAPN said in a press release.
On May 16 and 17, travel and troops are scheduled, including the fighter group dislocated in Cincu, to Smârdan, but also of some Spanish structures from Frecaţei to Smârdan and Cincu.
“These operational activities are carried out within the scenario of the exercise and contribute to the increase of the cohesion and mobility of the participating forces ”says MApN.
To reduce the impact on road traffic and local communities, most military trips will take place at night.
According to MAPN, DASP 25 exercises and its components, such as Scorpions Legacy 2025 (Scle 25), are “Defensive, transparent and is carried out with full respect of the international commitments made by Romania”.
SCLE 25 includes tactical fields in field and real shootings, being coordinated by the South-East Multinational Brigade Command.
The event is planned and led by the South-East Multinational Command (HQ MND-SU), and the main objective is to strengthen the collective defense capacity and to strengthen the cooperation between the Allied structures.
