Russia's massive attack on Kyiv. Residential buildings are burning

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram that a nine-story residential building was on fire, most likely after fragments of a downed drone fell on the roof. He also reported a large fire in the Podił district.
People were stuck under the rubble
“Cars hit by falling debris are burning in the Obolon district. Fires also broke out in two places, including one near a kindergarten,” Klitschko wrote. He added that according to initial reports, two people were injured.
In the next entry, Klitschko said that the fire also broke out in a 24-story residential skyscraper, which was seriously damaged. There is information about residents trapped under the rubble.
According to Reuters, thousands of Kiev residents took shelter in metro stations and other temporary shelters.
Earlier on Monday, in an evening video, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of a possible massive Russian attack and appealed to residents to pay close attention to the alarms.
Russia last week warned that it intended to carry out “systematic attacks on military targets and decision-making centers in Kiev” and urged foreigners, including diplomats, to leave the city. This is to be a response to the Ukrainian drone attack in the occupied Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine, which allegedly killed 21 people. Kyiv has denied carrying out such an attack.
The governor of the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine, Oleh Synehubov, said that as a result of Russian night attacks, at least six people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl.
