Nicușor Dan held a brief statement in the middle of the night after giving Crin Antonescu and thus entered the second round of the presidential elections, where he will face George Simion.

“We are in the second round. At this moment we separate 50,000 votes from the 3rd place and the trend is irreversible. There are still 300,000 votes, there is no big point in waiting tonight,” said Nicușor Dan.

He thanked his voters, including those who voted for the other candidates, “because it was a democratic process that Romania needed.” “I especially thank the Romanians from the Republic of Moldova, where I won over 50%,” Nicușor Dan pointed out.

“There will be a two difficult tour with the isolationist candidate. It will not be a debate between people, but a debate between a pro-Western direction for Romania and an anti-Western one, this will be the second tour. It is our task to convince Romania that Romania needs the pro-Western direction and this will be based on our campaign,”

“And I am convinced that we will win, that Romania will keep the pro-Western direction, and I have hopes that, with all the resources that this country has, in a few years it will be in the place it deserves,” concluded the independent candidate.

Nicușor Dan passed on the 2nd place, according to the results published until this time by the Permanent Electoral Authority, following the vote at the first round of the presidential elections, departing Crin Antonescu. In fact, Antonescu has already recognized his defeat. Nicușor Dan will face in the second round Cugeorge Simion, who won this first round.
