On his real name Michael Eugene Archer, D'Angelo, born in Richmond, in the US state of Virginia (East US), has experienced success in 1995, with the release of his first album, “Brown Sugar”, which introduced a new Soul sound, combining the vocal finesse of the 70's with analog and hip-hop sounds.

He opened the way for artists like Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill (former component of the bandes), and later for musicians like Bilal or currently Frank Ocean, notes Agerpres.

However, the album “Voodoo” is the one who propelled in the foreground, especially the song “Untitled”, in whose video it appears nude.

Subsequently, D'Angelo was much less heard, except for a big return in 2014, with the album “Black Messiah”, received with enthusiasm by critics.
