The PSD National Political Council scheduled a meeting on Monday afternoon to discuss the result of the first tour of the presidential elections.
'I want to make you a statement, with what to propose to my colleagues. After making some decisions with my colleagues, I will notify you what decisions we made. After the annulment of the December elections and after the parliamentary elections, a ruling coalition that has a majority in the Romanian Parliament, with two objectives. The first objective-to create a government with a prime minister from the PSD, because the PSD was in the first place. My colleagues proposed me. And the second objective – to have a common candidate for the position of president of Romania. One of the two objectives was not achieved, to have a common candidate to become the President of Romania. Mr. Crin Antonescu, the common candidate of the Coalition, did not enter the 2nd round, Ciolacu said at the PSD headquarters, before the party management meeting, according to Agerpres.

'Of course, today, after seeing the vote of the Romanians and the fact that this coalition did not meet its objectives, so having no credibility after the vote of the Romanians, I will propose to my colleagues to get out of this coalition. If my colleagues will vote to get out of the coalition, normally that I, the Prime Minister of the Coalition, will submit my resignation today to the interim president of Romania ', concluded Ciolacu.
