Krasnoyarsk police thanked the employee of the local branch of one of the banks for not allowing fraudsters to kidnap money from an elderly client.

An unknown man called a 65-year-old man and said that the attackers gained access to his personal office on the public service portal, as well as allegedly a power of attorney to dispose of all bank accounts on his behalf. To avoid financial losses, the Krasnoyarsk was recommended to remove all the savings and put them on a “safe” account.

“The man, following the instructions, came to the bank branch to withdraw 1,500,000 rubles, which he intended to send to the attackers. He was excited and spoke with someone all the time on the phone. Senior financial consultant Natalia Velieva drew attention to the visitor. She suggested that scammers were guided by his actions, dissuaded from the operations and reported the police officer, ”the department said.
