The Navy commented on the crash of An-26 and Su-30 in Crimea

The Ministry of Internal Affairs suggests that the cause of the plane crash could have been an accident or the actions of the Russian Federation systems themselves.

“We cannot confirm our involvement in these events in relation to the specified aircraft [Ан-26] with passengers on board, there were allegedly 29 people, including crew members. According to the information available at the moment, most likely it was an accident,” Pletenchuk said.

He noted that it is impossible to exclude the possibility of the influence of the occupiers’ own funds in the context of the active operation of Russian counter-defense and electronic warfare systems in Crimea.

Pletenchuk added that more details about the cause of the incident will become known later. “Such information, which is obtained on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, is usually subject to quite a long verification and search, because it actually happens behind hostile lines,” said a Navy representative.

According to him, the Navy is also not involved in the incident with the Su-30 and cannot confirm the fact that the plane was shot down.

“Most likely, there was an accident related to the operation of the aircraft. This may be due to the extreme operating conditions of these aircraft,” Pletenchuk suggested.

He explained that the intensive use of Russian aviation in the Azov-Black Sea region affects the wear and tear of equipment and crew fatigue, which can lead to similar cases.
