4.5 thousand PLN for an electric bike. Government subsidies still in this quarter?

Work is underway on the final provisions of the Electrical Bicycles subsidies program – the climate and environment resorted in response to PAP's questions. It was assured that the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management is working so that “my electric bike” moves until the middle of the year.

On February 25, the social consultation of the announced program of subsidies for electric bicycles “My electric bike” has ended. The Ministry of Climate and Environment has assured that work is currently underway on the final provisions of the program.

“The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management is working on launching the program (…) still in this quarter” – added.

PAP asked the ministry, among others about whether the program will be modified and whether the announced program budget (PLN 50 million) will change. “It is too early at this stage to talk about specific changes in the program records,” the ministry replied.

The version of the program, which went to the consultation, assumed that the beneficiaries of the program would be natural persons, and subsidies to buy an electric bike will be up to 50 percent. eligible costs, but not more than PLN 2,500. In the case of cargo bikes and bicycle prams, the maximum subsidy would amount to PLN 4,500. The program did not foresee support for a vehicle financed using leasing. The subsidy would be paid after purchasing such a vehicle.

NFOŚiGW estimated that at PLN 50 million of the budget, the purchase would be supported by the purchase of over 17.3 thousand. vehicles.

According to the original assumptions, the program of subsidies for the purchase of electrical bikes was to be financed from the EU funds of the modernization fund, but the European Investment Bank did not agree. (PAP)
