Aligators surrounded the aircraft wreck. The passengers were waiting for the help of 36 hours

The incident occurred in the Beni Department, north Bolivia, between the cities of Baures and Trinidad. According to the piloting Avionette Andres Velarde, quoted on Saturday by Globo television, three women and a child were outside the machine during the unlucky flight.

The pilot specified that after finding the engine failure, which caused a rapid loss of height, he decided to land on wetlands. It ended with a tipping of the machine and partial flooding.

“We could not move away from the plane because we were surrounded by alligators. They were three meters away from us,” Velarde added, specifying that the passengers of the aircraft also saw dangerous snakes in their vicinity. In his opinion, predatory reptiles did not approach the machine, because during the landing the aircraft suffered damage, as a result of which there was a fuel leak. “Probably his smell scared the animals,” he added.

The head of the Regional Rescue Center Wilson Avila, who coordinated the search campaign, announced that the rescuers found passengers “in good condition” on the roof of the machine. He confirmed that the area was surrounded by alligators.

Avila added that the passengers of the aircraft survived, feeding on the flour from the maniok taken on board by one of the people.
