Ben Gvir calls for the resumption of the war in the Gaza Strip. The State Department warned of a Hamas attack

In response to the attack, Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir appealed to Prime Minister Netanyahu to resume military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Already on Saturday, the US State Department warned of “the risk of Hamas violating the ceasefire against the people of Gaza.” “Planned attacks on Palestinian civilians would constitute a direct and serious violation of the ceasefire agreement,” the ministry wrote.

Hamas responds to the US

In response to the US administration's statement, Hamas noted that “it was the occupation authorities (Israel – PAP) that created, armed and financed criminal gangs that committed murders, kidnappings, theft of trucks carrying humanitarian aid and attacks on the Palestinian civilian population.”

A ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas has been in place in the Gaza Strip since October 10. The first stage involves a cessation of fighting, a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops, an exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners and an increase in humanitarian aid.

Most of these points have been implemented. However, Hamas has so far returned nine of the 28 bodies of the killed hostages.

The second stage of the plan presented by US President Donald Trump includes, among others: the laying down of weapons by Hamas, the transfer of power in the Gaza Strip to an interim Palestinian administration under international supervision, the creation of stabilization forces and the reconstruction of this territory.
