Nicușor Dan, an independent candidate for the presidential elections, holds a press conference, on Thursday evening, in the context of the photos distributed on Facebook by Elena Lasconi, about whom the USR candidate claims to show the mayor, former prime minister Victor Ponta and Florian Coldea, former deputy deputy of the SRI director.

• In a first reaction, on Facebook, Nicușor Dan had stated that “the pictures that Elena Lasconi posted are a gross false” and that “this alleged meeting has never taken place”.
• Victor Ponta also complained a “fake news” and announced criminal complaints against Elena Lasconi and the Antena 3 television station.

Elena Lasconi distributed on Thursday night, on Facebook, a series of images that suggest showing Nicușor Dan, Victor Ponta and Florian Coldea.

“In the spirit of truth, I think we all need some explanations for these photos,” Lasconi wrote in the description that accompanies the images. “

Nicușor Dan initially reacted on Facebook and claimed that this is “a gross fake”.

“The pictures that Elena Lasconi posted are a gross false. This alleged meeting has never taken place,” said the mayor in a short reaction.

Victor Ponta also had a reaction, which announced criminal complaints against Elena Lasconi and the Antena 3 station.

“They are desperate because their puppet, luxury unemployment Crin Antonescu, is not voted by Romanians! I have never met with Nicușor Dan in a private house or elsewhere, except for TVR's debate! The “Joker” Lasconi!

On Wednesday night, during the electoral debate from Antena 3, Elena Lasconi asked Nicușor Dan if, apart from a well -known meeting at the France's Embassy, ​​he had any discussion with Florian Coldea.

“Did you say at one point that you met Florian Coldea once at the French Embassy. (…) Have you met with him and what context?”, Asked Lasconi.

The mayor of the capital, who is applying as an independent in the presidential elections, denied.

On Thursday, in an interview for Europa FM, Elena Lasconi said she received photos by e-mail and wanted to check if Nicușor Dan will publicly admit the existence of other meetings.

“I wanted to see if, asking him, he would recognize it. I knew he lied and lie,” Lasconi said.

She also claimed that former prime minister Victor Ponta also appears in the pictures.

“And Mr. Ponta. I think it was the arrangement for the candidacy,” said Elena Lasconi.
