Many people do not trust store-bought processed cheese because they believe that they contain too much starch and vegetable fats. However, you can prepare such a product yourself from simple ingredients. Homemade cheese will turn out so tasty and tender that you can forget about the existence of store-bought analogues. Ideal for breakfast or snack!
Ingredients:
- cottage cheese (5-9%) – 500 g;
- butter – 100 g;
- eggs – 2 pcs.;
- salt – 1 tsp;
- soda – 1/2 tsp;
- citric acid – 1/4 tsp.
Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance. It should be soft. It is better to take cottage cheese not grainy, but in packs. Place cottage cheese, eggs, butter, a pinch of salt, soda and citric acid in a saucepan with a thick bottom.
Using an immersion blender, beat the mixture until it becomes a smooth cream, place the pan on low heat and stir constantly. After a few minutes, the cottage cheese will melt and the mixture will become viscous.
Heat for a couple more minutes until completely smooth. If there are small lumps left, lightly beat with a blender right during cooking. Pour the hot cheese into a container, cover with cling film in contact, let cool at room temperature, then put in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
The cheese turns out to be plastic and tender. For taste, you can add pieces of bacon, herbs or paprika. Bon appetit!
