In addition to sending migrants with a criminal past, Trump's officials also hope to start formal negotiations with Libya, with which they would like to include the so -called A contract on a safe third country that would allow the United States to send people detained on the US border to this country, but applying for asylum, the American station found out.

The United States already has a similar agreement with the El Salvador, who accepts Venezuela citizens and holds them at a terrorist center.

CNN refers to Tuesday's office meeting, during which the Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States is conducting talks with several countries and are trying to persuade them to receive people from third countries that are illegally in the US. Rubio told President Trump that the talks concern “not only El Salvador”, and very distant countries are taken into account that will prevent the deported return to the USA.

In 2022, Rwanda already concluded a similar agreement with Great Britain, thanks to which people applying for asylum in the United Kingdom were to be deported to the African country. The contract was abandoned last year due to low effectiveness and huge costs. (PAP)
