The highest salaries in Poland are concentrated around large urban centers, but also in places where large companies operate, especially KGHM. Differences in average wages between the richest and poorest communes reach up to PLN 6,000. PLN per month.

When it comes to counties, the highest median earnings were in December 2025 in Warsaw and amounted to 10.8 thousand PLN gross per month. That means an increase of PLN 810 during the year. Over 9.5 thousand PLN gross monthly median wages are still in four poviats: Lubin (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), Legionowo (Masovian Voivodeship), Krakow and Warsaw West. From this group, wages grew the fastest in Warsaw (+PLN 810 y/y) and Legionowo County (+PLN 805 y/y). Wages grew the slowest in the following counties: Jaworzno (+PLN 285 y/y) and Elbląg (+PLN 311 y/y).
The median wage in Poland as a whole increased the most in the Bieszczady poviat in the province. Podkarpackie. Between the district with the highest median earnings, i.e. Warsaw (median in December: PLN 10.8 thousand gross), and the district with the lowest earnings, i.e. Kępiński in the province. Greater Poland Voivodeship (median PLN 6,000 gross) the difference was as much as 4.8 thousand. zloty. The differences between municipalities can be even greater.
High earnings in municipalities and the highest increases
When it comes to communes, the highest median salary is over PLN 11,000. PLN gross in December, residents could enjoy Jerzmanowa from the province Lower Silesia (PLN 11.3 thousand gross) and Podkowa Leśna near Warsaw (median PLN 11,000 gross). The difference between the first one mentioned and the commune with the lowest wages, i.e Czajkowo from the province Greater Poland (PLN 5.3 thousand gross) is as much as 6 thousand zloty.
Over 10 thousand 12 towns out of 2,005 communes in the country can boast of median earnings. In addition to Jerzmanowa and Podkowa Leśna, the list also includes:
- from the province Masovian Voivodeship: Warsaw, Michałowice, Stare Babice, Jabłonna and Łomianki,
- from the province Lower Silesia: Lubin and Polkowice,
- from the province Opole: Branice and Kietrz and
- from the province Lesser Poland's Zielonka.
The largest increase in median earnings – by PLN 1.4 thousand. PLN within 12 months – occurred in Czarna in the province Podkarpackie (up to PLN 7.6 thousand gross). The Dębica tire company and chemical plants in Tarnów operate in this region. After over 1.2 thousand PLN median wages increased in Branice in the province Opolskie and Radecznica in the province Lublin Province.
The lowest wages and the largest wage declines
We also looked at the list of towns with median earnings below PLN 6,000. PLN gross. There are as many as 45 such communes out of 2005. Of these, nine are from the province. Greater Poland Voivodeship, six from the Voivodeship Lesser Poland and Lublin Voivodeships, five from the Łódź Voivodeship and four each from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and the Masovian Voivodeship.
The largest drop in median wages took place in Czarna Woda in the province. Pomeranian and Rząśnia in the province Łódź.
