The Secretary of the US Treasury, Scott Bessent, during the investors' meeting closed to the media and the audience on Tuesday in Washington, emphasized that the current tariff deadlock between the United States and China is not balanced and is not to be maintained in the long run. Although – as he noted – formal conversations have not yet begun, Bessent was to express the belief that reaching an agreement is still within reach.
