He added that Ukrainian forces could have fired artillery or attacked the Russians with drones, but they did not do so because they did not want civilians to be harmed.
Ukrainian human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said he had contacted the International Red Cross and his Russian counterpart to obtain information on the condition of the abducted civilians and to appeal for their immediate return.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that the Russians attacked Grabowski, taking advantage of the defenders' mistakes. Their goal is to take over the P45 highway connecting Kharkov with Sumy. As journalists write, the Ukrainian defenders allegedly behaved carelessly. “The group that held positions there had a completely irresponsible approach to carrying out the tasks.”
