The head of Pentagon Pete HegeSeth refused to confirm on Thursday at the US Congress that his ministry has no plans for armed invasion of Denmark Greenland. The role of the pentagon is planning for any eventuality – he said.

Performing on Thursday at the House of Representatives for the Armed Forces before the Commission of the House of Representatives, HegeSeth twice refused to answer the congressmen's questions directly about the plans of the armed Greenland, as well as Panama.
“Our task in the Ministry of Defense is to have plans for any eventuality – basically every eventuality (…). We have a building full of planners and we are prepared to give recommendations when it is needed,” said HegeSeth. He added that the USAs are concerned about China's influence in Panama and Arctic.
Asked by the deputy head of the commission, the Democrat of Adam Smith, whether he has a specifically plan of the invasion of Greenland or Panama, the Minister of Defense said that Americans would like his department to be prepared for everything.
“Speaking on behalf of the American people: I do not think the Americans vote for the president (USA Donald) Trump because they hoped that (USA) they would invade Greenland,” Smith replied.
The Republican Congresmen Mike Turner also asked for additional explanations, asking the head of Pentagon to confirm that he had no plans to invade Greenland. HegeSeth again replied that he had plans for many scenarios.
“You don't testify today that there are plans to take over the strength or invasion of Greenland in the Pentagon, he agrees? Because I have a damn hope that this is not your testimony,” said Turner.
“We count on cooperation with Greenland to ensure its safety against potential threats,” said HegeSeth.
