Mutual accusations

The Russian Ministry of Defense accused Ukraine on Sunday of violating the armistice of cessation of Easter fire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin, hitting more than a thousand times, Russian news agencies reported.

In a statement quoted by Interfax, the Russian Ministry said that Ukrainian forces fired 444 times on Russian positions, while counting more than 900 Ukrainian attacks with drones.

“Despite the announcement of the Easter armistice, the Ukrainian armed forces tried to attack the positions of Russian troops at night in the areas of Sukhaya Balka and Bogatyr in the Donetk People's Republic, which were rejected,” the Russian Ministry, quoted by Interfax, shows.

Putin ordered his forces on Saturday to “stop any military activity” in Ukraine for a temporary Easter armistice. The Kremlin leader said that the 30 -hour armistice will take from 6:00 pm, Moscow time, on Saturday, until midnight on Sunday.

But on Sunday morning, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski accused Russia of creating an “impression” to cease fire while continuing military actions in some places in Ukraine.
