The National Council for the Study of Security Archives (CNSAS) issued a certificate attesting that Crin Antonescu, the presidential candidate of the PSD-PNL-UDMR coalition, was not a collaborator or informant of the Security, writes G4media. However, CNSAS researchers discovered a statement given by Antonescu in 1988, about a colleague from the Niculițel School (Tulcea County), a statement signed by his name, not with a conspiracy name.
The name of Crin Antonescu was discovered in a pursuit file aimed at a teacher from Niculi, indicated with the initials C.Ș.
“Within the informative research initiated by Security on Mr. C.Ș., as well as his entourage, the holder of the certificate (Crin Antonescu – n.red.), History teacher at the General School Niculițel and a close friend with C.Ș., was summoned by the Security bodies and gave a statement, dated 13.01.1988,” CNSAS.
The Council has decided that the situation is subject to the provision of GEO 24/2008, which stipulates that “the person who provided information contained in statements, minutes of interrogation or confrontation, given during the investigation and process, in freedom, for restraint or arrest, for political reasons for the cause for which it was either investigated, or is not being investigated, or is not being investigated, or
“Considering the fact that the note of finding no. DI/I/355 dated 31.03.2025 does not record the existence of other documents or information regarding the relation with the security bodies, in the case of Mr. Antonescu George Laurentiu, the quality of security, within the meaning of the law, can be withheld. undertaken until 31.03.2025 there were no documents or information on belonging to the structures of the former Interior Ministry, as an officer or security officer or militia, so that in the case of Mr. Antonescu George Crin Laurentiu, the quality of security worker, within the meaning of the law, cannot be retained ”.
The note of finding can only be consulted by the certificate's holder, that is, by Crin Antonescu, CNSAS decided, which is a premiere, notes G4media
It is worth noting: CNSAS has restricted access to the note of finding that was the basis for issuing the certificate, showing that only Crin Antonescu can consult it.
Also, no fragment from Crin Antonescu's statement is presented in the certificate, which is another premiere.
