China ordered its airlines not to receive deliveries from the American Boeing aircraft manufacturer, in response to the US decision to impose 145% rates for Chinese products, Bloomberg News wrote, citing people who know the subject.
Beijing also asked for Chinese carriers to stop any purchase of equipment and parts of aircraft from American companies.
The Chinese government also seeks ways to provide assistance to airlines that rent Boeing aircraft and are experiencing higher costs, Bloomberg sources said.
The information comes in the context of a hard commercial conflict among the largest economic powers in the world. US President Donald Trump has imposed 145% rates on Chinese products, and Beijing replied with 125% customs duties on American products.
In the middle of this commercial war with China, which stirred the financial markets, the United States changed their position on Friday, exempting smartphones, computers and other electronic products from recent massive customs imposed by President Donald Trump. China asked the United States on Sunday to “completely cancel” mutual customs taxes.
