The newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Star” (12+) on April 15, 1937, in a constant section “In the city and the region”, wrote that employees of the telegraph, telephone station and communications department conducted the first experience in the gas mask. The telephone operators passed and took telegrams, and also talked with subscribers in gas masks.

The newspaper informed its readers that the registry office has an increased number of marriages in the region. In 1936, 985 marriages were registered by registry offices. In January 1937, 99 marriages were registered.
On the 3rd anniversary of the EAO, Kharkov Komzet sent as a gift to the artel “Birobidzhan marble” Piano.
In this section, the newspaper informs the population that the regional department of the Dalorg has begun to make “mobile stores”. Parts of the store are produced in the construction site, and then collected and installed in specially designated places for trading. The first such mobile store was installed on Oktyabrskaya Street (next to the House of Communications).
In the same newspaper, in the note “Traces of ancient settlements” there is information that the Far Eastern geologist B.V. Witgeft discovered traces of ancient settlements on the small Hingan. In elevated places near the rivers, wide pits, sometimes located nearby, are noticed, traces of the moat surrounding them are visible around them. Geologist met the traces of ancient settlements along the Manchurka River and Kedrova’s tributary, along the Pompeevka, Shakhin, Bijan, key and near the Birakan station. “Further archaeological excavations on the small Hingan will help to shed a new light on the history of ancient cultures of the region.”

In the book of D. Wasserman “Birobidzhan: Dreams and Tragedy” (12+), information was posted that on April 15, 1949, Boris Naumovich Geltzberg was approved by the director of the spectator of L. M. Kaganovich. He replaced the beautiful director and leader Efim Gelfand in this position.
Boris Naumovich Geltzberg was a unique and legendary person. Born in 1910 in Kharkov. Since 1922 he lived in Moscow. He was a pioneer of the first pioneer detachment in the Soviet Union – in Krasnaya Presnya. Geltzberg was one of the first graduates of the All -Union State Institute of Cinematography, having received a specialty “Screenwriter” there. After graduating, he studied in graduate school.
In 1935, according to the ticket of the Central Committee of the All -Union Lenin Communist Union of Youth, he came to the Jewish Autonomous Region. At first he was an instructor in the Komsomol district committee.
During the war he was a political officer, military commissar, the head of the Ussuri garrison theater. From 1946 to 1949 he served as a correspondent for the newspaper “Soviet Army for the Korean population.” In 1948, in Korea he wrote a book in Korean about the local population. From 1951 to 1956 he worked as a lecturer of the Knowledge Society in Khabarovsk. He visited all areas of the Far East – from Chukotka to Primorye. I wrote a lot about the urgent problems of the region. In 1956, Boris Naumovich moved to Komsomolsk-on-Amur. He worked as a correspondent of Khabarovsk broadcasting. And in 1958 he was appointed director of the Drama Theater Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
In 1976 he joined the Union of Journalists of the USSR. In 1985, he was awarded the Prize of the Laureate of the Lenin Komsomol of the Khabarovsk Territory. In 1988, Boris Naumovich published a book of memoirs “Years District, Close Time” (12+).

On April 15, 1964, the Birobidzhan Zvezda newspaper wrote that representatives of the region’s sports community gathered in the hall of the Birobidzhan Palace of Culture to hear the report of the Presidium of the Regional Council of the Union of Sports Societies and Organizations in the work done over the past year.
“In 1963, the number of physical cultures in the region increased by 7625 people. One master of sports was prepared from among them, 115 athletes of the first and 894 of the second category. The third sports category received 3108 people, 5095 people have youth categories …”.
In the same newspaper in the heading “On the 30th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region”, in the article “Our Birobidzhan” by V. Panman, it is talked about how for thirty years of existence they grew up, Birobidzhan was developing and good.
“… the car slides almost silently on smooth dry asphalt. The descent, rise, the descent and the rise-and the birobidzhan is already visible-it shines with thousands of lights. It was as if some swayed gin threw a handful of diamonds into the evening darkness.
