Former Minister of Water, Doina Pană, said that the situation that Victor Ponta talks about did not exist, claiming that Romania had to open the Iron Gates, as the current independent candidate said.

“” There is something that I remember all my life, I was in a huge tension, you realize. I was following the Danube defect, along with the Hungarians, with the Serbs. To understand everyone, we had no more than 13,200 cubic meters on the Danube. Iron gates do not know what order he gave over the Romanian structures, what understanding he had.

Former minister in Ponta cabinet said that he did not understand the former PSD leader has discussed a situation that she claims did not exist.

“I have a special esteem for Victor Ponta, because, on the problems on the forests he supported me, he kept my back in very heavy situations. Now I do not understand it, I do not know why he had to talk about this episode that existed, or, as he says, he ordered the Romanian structures.

She also stated that as Minister of Water, she did not have the last word regarding the decisions taken by the Romanian authorities at the floods of 2014.

“In the Committee for Emergency Situations, a decisive word had the Minister of the Interior, he was Arafat coordinator, and from the Government of occupying Mr. Dragnea, he was deputy prime minister and he had taken over the whole situation for floods. If he hadn't, technically, ”said Pană.

Former PSD leader Liviu Dragnea, who held the position of Deputy Prime Minister when Victor Ponta was at the forefront of the Government of Romania, claimed that the current independent candidate for Cotroceni “suffers from mythomania” and “distorts the truth to his advantage”.

Victor Ponta declared in an interview that he received Serbian citizenship because in 2014, when he was prime minister, he ordered the Romanian structures to open the Valley from the Iron Gates and thus the Serbian capital was not flooded.

He said that, on the other hand, the Romanian side was flooded, but the people were moved and damages were quickly given.
