Duda has signed a new law on the labor market. Changes in benefits and support for the unemployed

President Andrzej Duda signed the law on the labor market and employment services – the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland said on Friday. The regulation assumes the reform of employment offices, including raising the unemployment benefit and facilitating the improvement of professional qualifications.

The regulation replaces the Act on employment promotion and labor market institutions that has been operating for 20 years. The government act provides for comprehensive modernization of labor market institutions. The reform was saved in the National Reconstruction Plan.

In the new regulation The unemployment benefit of 80 percent was abandoned. basic benefit of the unemployed who have a period entitling to an allowance of less than 5 years. Such people will receive a 100 % allowance.

Changes were also introduced in the development of an individual action plan (IPD). Currently, IPD is compulsory for any unemployed within 60 days of registration.

The act also assumes The introduction of a “internship plus”, which will consist in facilitating the acquisition of not only skills, but also professional qualifications, rewarded with the payment of an allowance for a trainee and bonus for the employer. It will replace adults' professional preparation, which – as the authors of the project pointed out – is extremely rarely used, in 2023 it was used by 42 people.

They were also introduced new support rules for people under 30consisting in assessing the digital skills of a person registering as an unemployed or looking for a job. An employment advisor will be appointed in each PUP acting as an advisor for young people.

Her funds can be used to pay, for example, training costs, postgraduate studies, confirmation of knowledge and skills, obtaining documents confirming the acquisition of knowledge and skills, and to continue education in school forms. In turn, about the so -called bon All unemployed people regardless of age will be able to apply. Currently, unemployed people up to 30 years old can use this form of assistance.
