A few weeks after they appeared in a significant number along the Ukraine front line, the Russian Gaz-69 trucks, almost museum pieces in the 1950s, were the target of the direct attack in the Ukraine war, writes forbes.com.

Thursday's assault near Bilohorivka, at the confluence between Luhansk and Donetsk regions of East Ukraine, ended badly for at least one of the gas-69 with full traction and weight of 3,500 kilograms, which came from the Molotov plant assembly between 1952 and 1972.

The trucks are completely unrightened, except for the anti -danted cages that Russian troops weld on them.

The Gaz-69 vehicle was hit by a drone of the Ukrainian team of Drone Abwehr Gruppe, which is part of the 81st Air Furniture Brigade. The rest of the civilian vehicles in the column of the size of a platoon – including, potentially, other Gaz -69 – were also attacked.

“No one has arrived, no one has touched Ukrainian positions”, Abwehr group reported.

70 -year -old assault trucks

The best -protected Russian assault groups are struggling to cross the front line full of me, embedded by artillery and quadold by drones in Russia's larger war with Ukraine, which lasts 38 months.

More and more Russian regiments are moving in civil vehicles, as Russia has lost over 20,000 specially manufactured combat vehicles, and factories strive to build new vehicles quickly enough.

This explains why the numerically superior Russian force in eastern Ukraine, which could count more than half a million people, are struggling to gain ground.

“Although it holds the advantage on a large part of the front line, Russia's winter campaign has given limited results, which indicates that the situation of Ukraine is not serious,” Tatarigami concluded, the founder of Frontolligence Insight, a Ukrainian analysis group.

This does not mean that better -equipped Russian assault groups – or luckier – will not advance a short distance here or there. Indeed, the Russian regiments have gained some land south of Bilohorivka in recent days, according to the Ukrainian center for defense strategies.

This means that, in general, the Russian army in Ukraine is increasingly equipped for a major and also poorly equipped offensive to exploit any localized discovery that results from a successful assault. What was once one of the great mechanized army of the world is disappointed at a rapid rate.
