“I fulfill a dream from childhood!” + The Olympic Champion and Sabrina Voinea will be for the first time stars on a fashion podium
Simona Radiș will be, on Tuesday evening, the number one star in the creator Claudia Rawlings at the Bukarest Fashion Week. The same main role will be played by Sabrina Voinea in the presentations prepared by Xena Coseru and Helen's Originals. GSP has witnessed one of the canon's sample sessions.
Arriving at the edition with the number 43, the Bukarest Fashion Week festival will propose, on July 22 and 23, a special moment for two of the elite names of Romanian sport: Simona Radiș and Sabrina Voinea.
At the “Ambassador” club in Otopeni, both will be for the first time on a fashion podium to present a gala for three consecrated designers: Claudia Rawlings, Xena Coșeru and Helen's Originals. And the GSP entered exclusively in the backstage of the show, at one of the fitting sessions held by the double. Simona Radiș Olympic champion, gold at Tokyo 2020 (double row) and Paris 2024 (8+1 crew)!
Claudia Rawlings: “Much glitter, metallic things for a goddess silhouette”
With clothing design studies in the United Kingdom, Claudia Rawlings commute between her native country, Romania, and the adoption, the Netherlands, but an international figure with her glamorous collections presented at events in the internal and external circuit. He worked with Bass & Brooke, the terrible couple of multicolored creations and spectacular prints, which gave the London audience back.
He has intersected with the world of the theater, he also collaborated with Camelia Potec, and the Tokyo Olympics should have been the opportunity to equip the entire Romanian group, but the pandemic explosion melted a spectacular project.
Now, at BFW, it will open the ball with Simona Radiș, who prepared a personalized outfit, a magnetic bronze. “Simona liked the shade very much, we first met at a short session to sketch the dress and get to know us. I like to read people before proposing different models, colors, depending on the appearance and personality of each,” explained Rawlings.
And it continued: “Simona has to shine at her first appearance on the fashion podium, as she does in her rowing races. Over the Top will be held, with much glitter, metal, for a goddess silhouette, as is the case with Simona.”

And Radiș did not hide his pressure at the fitting meeting, which he accepted to attend GSP: “The emotions from the competition are not compared to the ones here. The first ones are already common, but now it is something special. Since I was little I wanted to become a model and I did not hope that that day will come. But here is the surprise of today and I can hardly wait to live the moments of Tuesday evening. It is a pleasant surprise.
He avoided discovering the surprises of the show, only pointing out that “the outfit I will present I really like, I am convinced that it will attract all eyes. I hope it is not the last experience for me.”
