That's sure. 104 % duties of the USA for goods from China will come into force

Since China did not cancel their retaliation duties, at midnight from Tuesday to Wednesday (6 pm on Wednesday in Poland) a total of 104 % duties on goods from China will come into force – said the spokeswoman for the White House Karoline Leavitt, cited by Fox Business.

“When the duties come into force at 12.01, China will see an additional 104 percent added to import. China did not meet the term Trump set by the president (Donald) to the south of eastern time to remove retaliatory tariffs,” wrote on platform X Reporter Fox Business Edward Lawrence, citing a white home spokesman.

Leavitt confirmed in this way that Trump intends to realize his threat from Monday, when he threatened to apply an additional 50 % duties on imports from China, if Beijing does not withdraw from his 34 % retaliation duties announced on Friday, which are to come into force on Thursday.

In February, Trump imposed a 20 % duty on goods from China, and last Wednesday announced the imposition of an additional 34 % rate under tariffs to establish “reciprocity” in trade relations. After Beijing announced the same, the US president announced another 50 percent, which in total gives a 104 % rate for almost all products imported from China.

Additional duties on China, as well as 56 other countries with which the USA have a commercial deficit, will come into force on Wednesday at midnight East American time (6 am in Poland). Poland will also be among the affected countries, as part of the European Union, which will receive a 20 % duty.
