The National Broadcasting Council imposed 145 thousand on TVP. PLN penalty for the issue of the report entitled “Rydzyk masterpiece”, which appeared in the Special Report program – said the head of the National Broadcasting Council Maciej Świrski on Wednesday.
Świrski justified that KRRiT was received by “complaints from the Radio Maryja environment showing that we are dealing with violation of the law in the form of slander and calling to the speech of hatred in relation to prejudices against religion.”
“In this report, the work of Father Tadeusz Rydzyk was presented in the form of a museum in memory and identity, and therefore such a punishment was imposed – the amount of PLN 145,000.” – said the head of the National Broadcasting Council.
This decision is entitled to an appeal because it was issued in the mode of the Code of Administrative Procedure.
Material for which KRRiT imposed a penalty on TVP, was described on the public broadcaster's website as describing the “matter of the construction of the Museum Memory and Identity in Toruń – the greatest of + works + Father Tadeusz Rydzyk; Investments, in connection with which the Central Anti -Corruption Bureau entered the offices of the Lux Veritatis Foundation on December 5. The authors of the report are Paweł Gregorowicza and Bianka Mikołajewska.
Museum “Memory and identity” Saint. John Paul II in Toruń is a cultural institution created in 2018, pursuant to an agreement between the then management of the Ministry of Culture and the Lux Veritatis Foundation. The foundation was founded in 1998; Since 2003, he has been the broadcaster of Television Trwam. The Ministry of Culture filed with the District Court in Warsaw a lawsuit against the Foundation and the Museum to determine the invalidity of the agreement on the creation of a cultural institution. In December, the CBA entered the buildings of the “Lux Veritatis” Foundation in Warsaw, Toruń and Wrocław. Documents were secured to the investigation into exceeding the rights by the former Minister of Culture. It was about financing the Museum “Memory and identity” in Toruń.
