In Russia, the authorities are discussing the introduction of biometric identification for quick ride on rental electric scooters. About this writes RBC with reference to two sources in the State Duma.
According to the media holding, it is proposed to introduce the identification of biometry as a measure of safety increase. It is assumed that it will be mandatory for skiing with a high degree of risk – at a speed of 12 to 25 km/h, and for skiing at speed with a low risk, biometrics will not be needed. They want to put an appropriate experiment in Moscow in 2026, immediately after the start of the season of electric scooters.
The conversation about the pros and cons of this initiative, the risks associated with it, took place at one of the meetings in the State Duma. The curator was the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Technologies and Communications Anton Tkachev, among the participants were representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Department of Information Technology of Moscow, the Ministry of Cyphra, the Center for Biometric Technologies, the Moscow Metro and large Russian companies.
“A similar approach will ensure the voluntary use of technology, at the same time will allow you to better control the potentially dangerous road users. It is important that the introduction of technology does not affect the quality of client experience and does not have an excessive load on the business, ”said Anton Tkachev in an interview with journalists.
Another interlocutor of RBC from among the participants in the meeting notified media employees that the recommendation on the preparation of the conditions for conducting an Sim lease experiment was already sent to the government.
We will remind, earlier in the Krasnoyarsk City Council we discussed the use of personal mobility means in the territory of the regional capital. The discussion of the topic took place with the participation of representatives of the executive branch, traffic police and deputies, as well as businessmen providing kikshering services.
