
“After 40, the metabolism slows down. And not because we are aging, but because most people begin to move less. The weight begins to grow. And here the search for the perpetrator begins. The first suspect is carbohydrates,” the coach noted. “The logic is simple: carbohydrates increase insulin, insulin helps to deposit fat – you need to refuse carbohydrates.”
Boyko noted that such a logical chain is a delusion.
“Completely abandoning carbohydrates is how to disable electricity in the house to save on accounts. Carbohydrates are just the electricity that supplies energy to the brain, nourishes muscles and even the mood depends on the amount of carbohydrates,” he explained.
According to the expert, the most important thing is not to remove carbohydrates, but to limit them in the same way as fats.
“And in general, bring your daily calorie to the required amount of energy in which your weight will not increase. Therefore, the problem of excess weight after 40 is not carbohydrates, not fats, but their number, – summarized the coach. – The main thing is control.”
Context
Boyko in 2012 at the Ukrainian Bodybuilding Championship in Kyiv won the bronze medal in the category of “Veterans”. In 2016, at the open Cup of the Lviv region for bodybuilding, bodyfitnes, fitness bikini and beach bodybuilding in the category of “veterans” he took second place.
