Education increases A2 highway from September 11. The new rates will come into force at 6.00 in the morning – said the operator, the company Motorway Wielkopolska SA
The operator explains the change by the need to adapt prices to the growing costs of maintaining and expanding the infrastructure. This, however, does not convince the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), which strongly criticizes the decision, indicating that this is the second increase this year.
A new price list for traveling for each of the three 50-kilometer sections of the A2 motorway between Nowy Tomyśl and Konin is as follows:
- 19 PLN – motorcycles (formerly PLN 18),
- PLN 37 – passenger vehicles with two axles (previously PLN 36),
- PLN 63 – car vehicles with two axles with twin wheels or with trailers (previously PLN 60).
This means an increase in prices, which can be particularly felt for drivers regularly using the route.
Fees for A2. Second increase in 2005
This is another change of rates at this section of the highway in 2025. The previous increase took place in March 2025, when passenger car drivers began to pay PLN 36 for each of the three 50-kilometer sections-by PLN 2 more than before. Now the price will increase by another zloty.

In August, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways has objected to planned changes. In the official position, GDDKiA emphasized that frequent increases can lead to transit traffic to local roads, which will negatively affect the comfort of life of residents, the state of infrastructure and safety on less adapted routes.
“We strongly speak not for such increases. Of course, this increase is in line with the contract, we do not question the legality of this increase here, but we wanted to signal the frequency and scale of these increases,” said Szymon Piechowiak, spokesman for GDDKiA, in an interview with tvn24.pl.
A2 motorway. Why will drivers pay more?
The Wielkopolska Highway SA defends their decision, indicating that the concession episode A2 between Nowy Tomyśl and Konin is not subsidized by the public side. In addition, the company reminds that charged fees contain 23 percent. VAT, which goes directly to the state budget.
The company explains that increases result from growing maintenance costs and investments in infrastructure, such as surface repairs, modernization of security systems or investment debt service.
“In recent months, expenses related to surface renovation, modernization of security systems and investment debt support have increased significantly. At the same time, key projects are implemented, including the construction of three lanes for each direction at 10 km of 10 km section of Poznań Krzesiny – Poznań East or modernization of the Poznań Wschód node, Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Luboń.
