The Japanos group was distinguished with the “Sushi Restaurant of the Year” trophy at Pepsi European QSR Franchise Awards 2025, a competition that recognizes excellence and innovation in the European restaurants operated in the franchise system.

The prize confirms the Japanos position as one of the brands that manage to combine the authenticity of the Japanese cuisine with a modern vision of international expansion, adapted to various markets.

The founder of the group, Gabriel Faflei, said:

“This prize belongs to our team and to customers who support us everyday. We enjoy the recognition of a vision that we show that sushi can be authentic, accessible and of the highest quality.”

Born in Bucharest, Japanos was expanded with his own restaurants and franchises in Romania, France, Dubai, Kosovo and the Caribbean. In the coming months, the brand is preparing to open new locations in London, Dublin, Warsaw and Qatar, strengthening its international presence.
