The subtle gestures of power between Trump and Putin, deciphered by experts

The body language experts noticed subtle gestures in which Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump tried to communicate their power position towards each other, reports The Sun.

Both Trump and Putin tried to appear as alpha males, beyond smiles and courtesy gestures visibly over -the -US president.
The US president welcomed the red carpet on Friday on his Russian counterpart, on the runway of the Elmendorf-Richardson air base. Putin traveled on the red carpet a longer distance than Trump, and the two met at his intersection.
Putin seemed relaxed as he headed for Trump, making the US leader a sign of fingers at both hands before he greeting him with a warm hand.
After the picture in front of the press on a platform, Trump invited Putin in his armored limousine, a gesture that gave a private moment with his counterpart, before the discussions in the presence of the delegations that lasted about three hours.
Their public interactions were followed with great care, but also with finesse by the press, analysts and experts in body language, to deduce the diplomatic result of their historical meeting, but also to decipher the relationship between the two heads of state.
A top body language expert told The Sun that Trump and Putin tried to display their strong personalities in a moment of “frenzy”, in an attempt to create the perception that they are the most powerful leaders in the world.
Darren Stanton, nicknamed the human lies detector, noticed that Putin and Trump have mutually mirroring their “gestures of power”, in a demonstration of force meant to convey confidence and authority.
“Both men have done what we call the gesture of the inverted triangle (formed with the help of fingers), which is used to convey power and authority,” he said.
“Both little and Trump are alpha men and are fully aware of the meaning of these gestures. Both men try to convey confidence, being confident.”

Gestures meant to symbolize force
These gestures of the hand are subtle but are distinctive for communicating the power position.
“They used the gestures to transmit the message:” I will not be pushed beyond and beyond. I am the most dominant person here. “
But Trump sometimes tried to temper his gestures.
“Putin and Trump reflects each other's gestures and behaviors. Putin is the only politician that Trump does not use his entire arsenal to undermine, intimidate and look weak. He always meets a little on a common ground.”
At the same time, the expert observes “there were signs that Trump was trying to look stronger and at the same time was trying to be subtle.”

Certainly the reception made to Putin was not a pleasant view for America's European allies and even more for Zelenski, he noticed.
“Zelenski will not be delighted by the way Trump received Putin,” the fact that Trump has done everything possible and received it with fast. ”
The expert says that the US president showed that there was each other, and the smiles were some sincere, despite the sensitive problems they were to discuss.
This was seen when the American leader was applauded by his Russian counterpart while he was approaching him on the track.
It was also seen when he “gently comforted” his hand – a symbolic gesture of familiarity and friendship.
Moreover, Trump gave up his ordinary approach, putting his hand under that of Putin when they shook hands.
However, he quickly took control in the next moment, beating Putin on his back, in a possession of a dominant post.
In this regard, the Patty Ann Wood body language expert told Newsweek: “Usually, Trump likes to have his hand on top, but on the date he put the palm up – a weaker, more subordinate position – indicating that he sees Putin as stronger.”
Although initially Trump showed respect for the Russian leader, his hand was followed by an easy beating on his back.
Wood interprets the gesture as a “subtle sign of domination” that symbolically transmits the message: “I can hit you if I want.”
When the two sat for a photo in front of the press, the kindness turned into chaos.
At this point, Putin had a harsh treatment from journalists.
“How can I trust your word?
A little bit of strange grimace seemed to shout over the journalists before the press was invited outside.
At one point, he pointed to his ear to indicate that he did not hear.
However, the Beth Dawson body language expert said that this is actually a sign that the leader did not want to answer difficult questions.
“He looks down, he has the corners of his mouth down … Don't seem to be a sincere message like” well, what do you say? I don't hear you. Could you repeat it, please? “.
