The Russian mobile communications operator T2 took first place in the “Big Four” to improve the speed of mobile Internet in I-II quarters 2025. This conclusion follows from comparing the SpeedTest reports for the I-II quarters of 2024 and 2025 by the newspaper Vedomosti.
The dynamics is due to an increase in the rate of construction on the T2 network. In the first half of 2025, the operator installed 16.7% more new base stations than in 2024, the number of sites for placing equipment doubled.
Thanks to this, in the first half of 2025, T2 improved the speed of 1.7 times relative to the first half of 2024. The cumulative assessment indicator is 42.82 points against 25.59 last year. This is the highest recorded growth among the big four operators – plus 67.3%.
Such dynamics is due to large -scale measures for the development of the network: installing new basic stations, supporting aggregation, equipment with already existing sites and frequency refarding in LTE technology. The construction and modernization of base stations affect not only large cities, but also small settlements, federal roads and highways.
